Tommared - homestay cottage Twin cabin after Jälmåleden
In 1975, the hometown association received the old twin cottage.
The ground floor is from the beginning of the 18th century and the house was raised to approximately 1840. It is unique in that it is built as two mirror-facing apartments. In the middle there are both kitchens, then the big house or as mentioned here in the funnel "hall" and at the top of the gables two framers. Upon taking over the house, the house was very overdue, so major repairs were required. During the renovation, a hand painted underneath many layers of wallpaper was found. A piece of this wallpaper could be saved and now adorns a part of a wall in the hall. After the same pattern, templates were used when the rest of the room was painted.
In two other rooms there are additional varieties of hand-painted wallpaper.
The cottage is now furnished according to the past and is well worth a visit.
